Women's Enterprise

Our mission is to promote economic development through entrepreneurial assistance and advocacy for women.

Success through Self-Employment

Women’s Enterprise promotes the growth of women-owned businesses through programs that offer business counseling, mentoring, training and technical, financial, and procurement assistance. We are helping unprecedented numbers of women start and build successful businesses. At every stage of developing and expanding a successful business, Women’s Enterprise is here to counsel, teach, encourage and inspire women to succeed.

America's 10.6 million women-owned businesses employ 19.1 million people and contribute $2.5 trillion in sales - yet women continue to face unique obstacles in the world of business. Women business owners lag behind their male counterparts in obtaining access to much-needed resources, capital, and information.

Our mission is to promote economic development through entrepreneurial assistance and advocacy for women.

Our vision is to provide women and men, including those who are economically and/or socially disadvantaged, with the knowledge and expertise to make informed decisions and take actions to improve their overall financial positions in life.

Our uniqueness is due to the following:

Women’s Enterprise is the first SBA-funded Women’s Business Center in the state of Indiana (part of a strong national network of 114 WBC’s throughout the United States).

We have been recognized locally, regionally, and nationally as a viable resource for business development. We consistently strive to offer the best in business counseling (where experienced and qualified staff work one-on-one with clients); mentoring (where knowledgeable experts are recruited to provide specific guidance and services to clients at no cost); and training (where clients are afforded the opportunity to hone much-needed skills in a variety of business areas – accounting, legal, insurance, taxes, record-keeping, to name a few). As of 2008, we have served more than 8,100 clients and assisted over 600 businesses to start or expand.

We believe in strong collaborations and partnerships with other non-profit organizations as well as for-profit businesses. These critical relationships allow us to streamline efforts while optimizing results.
